Keil-Dadson Insurance Beginnings

We can trace our roots all the way back to 1919 when August William Keil opened A.W. Keil Insurance and became an agent for Howick Mutual Insurance Company.

Through the years, there have been many developments. Keil Insurance became a true insurance broker, offering insurance from many different insurance companies as they became available in the region. They eventually merged with Johnson – Dadson Insurance in 1998 to form Keil-Dadson Insurance Brokers, offering insurance solutions from their offices in Listowel and Gorrie.

In 2014, Keil-Dadson Insurance and Josslin Insurance realized their shared values and developed a common brand and standard of client care called Real Insurance.

Real Independent Advice
Unlike many insurance brokerages today, we have no insurance company ownership. This means we work for you. Any recommendations we provide about your coverage, or any claims assistance we provide is in your best interests, not those of your insurance company.

Real Choice
In Insurance, like in clothing, one size does not fit all. In fact, there are any number of insurance companies who can provide better rates, discounts or a specific type of coverage depending on your situation and, as your broker, it’s our job to find the right fit for you. Your Rights

As an insurance consumer, you have rights when dealing with an insurance broker. The Canadian Insurance Services Regulatory Organizations (CISRO) and our governing body, the Registered Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (RIBO), have each created an important document to help you understand these rights.

CISRO’s “Principles of Conduct for Insurance Intermediaries” outlines professional behaviour and conduct expectations for the fair treatment of customers across Canada. RIBO’s Broker Fact Sheet explains how insurance in Ontario works, the duties of the broker and the customer and options available to insurance customers.

Transparency

Our role is to provide you with the best insurance value. We also provide quality service that includes professional insurance advice and 24-hour claims support. If you experience an issue with your insurance coverage, we use our insurance expertise to act in your best interest.

As a broker, our compensation is part of your insurance premium. This compensation varies based on the type of policy.
