A homeowners policy has two parts: Property coverage and Liability coverage. The property coverage section provides protection for tangible items in the event of an insured loss. These tangible items include the house itself, the contents inside, detached structures, and any personal items like clothing or basic electronics you might carry around. It will also provide for additional living expenses if you have to find a place to stay in the event that your current home becomes uninhabitable.
The Liability coverage in a homeowners policy provides protection in the event that someone would sue you for negligence. If you have questions about your current policy or are looking for a solution that works for you, give us a call, we’d be happy to help.
